Too intellectual, maybe, but I will never lower my standards to fit in with you. I will never drink myself into oblivion just so we can compare stories, I will never smoke what you offer because I'd rather mellow out on my own, thanks. If I have to I will remain alone and I will read. If I have to I will spend time trading witticisms with anyone willing to take me on, if I have to I will talk to a new friend about my favorite part of a movie or explain to him that although my jacket says fishing, I bought it at a thrift store, and personally, I don't really like fishing. If I have to, that is what I will do. Keep your parties and your wild times and continue to stare at me when I talk about a prose reading--These are things I have to do. |
